I’m a political junkie. I don’t post about it here, because my blog isn’t a political one and I don’t have anything unique or earth-shattering to add to the world of politics.
But this presidential election nightmare in the USA has been incredibly embarrassing and will go down in history as one of the most ridiculous political events in our history.
I can’t wait to vote for the candidate for whom I feel passionate.
But mostly, I can’t wait for the campaigns to be over.
So, on this morning, in 2016, I want to congratulate the Chicago Cubs. But most of all, I’m appreciative of baseball.
Thank you, baseball, for changing the focus away from politics, at least for a short time.
Agree. My husband is a political junkie. It makes life in our household difficult during these election years. Especially this year. I, too, can’t wait until the election is over. Husband warns, however, that whoever wins, all of this won’t be over…as investigations will continue, Congress will stall, work will not get done. The whole thing is over the top. It’s a sad state of affairs, and for a little bit it was good to concentrate on baseball.

I love Chicago and Wrigley Field is so cool. And I love underdogs coming up from behind for improbable wins. So I agree all this was a welcome breath of fresh air! …

Ha! I don’t post politically either for the fear of losing one friend or the other. You know how that goes…H is the political junkie and keeps me up to date, though how can I miss the nightmare when it’s blasted across our TV screens 24 hours of the day? I voted early, but like you can’t wait to find the outcome. Missed that baseball segment too. 😞 It would have been refreshing. ~Elle

It was so nice that this morning the news channels were talking about baseball, too.

I’m 100% in favor of one of the candidates. But enough already with the campaigns. The World Series was like a mental health break.

I’ve been oddly disinterested in the election this year. Not because I don’t care but because I made up my mind some time ago and everything that’s happened has only reinforced my decision. I certainly haven’t been losing sleep agonizing over who to vote for. I know I should probably follow the blow by blow every day but, really, why? What good will it do except to get me all riled up? Some people thrive on the drama but I guess I’ve got myself a good case of drama fatigue because I just don’t have the energy for it and, besides, let not confuse getting all riled up on self righteous patriotism with ACTUALLY DOING something – you know, like volunteering at a soup kitchen or adopting a puppy. I’ve already taken advantage of the early voting here in Maryland, thus ensuring my right to bitch when the spirit to do so returns. It hasn’t yet… but it probably will. In the meantime, Go Cubs!

Well said! I’ve known for ages who I’m voting for. I’ve never been undecided. But I’m still fascinated by the process. But it’s been too much this time. I think the problem is that campaigning starts sooooo early now. It’s been like back-to-school sales starting right before Christmas. Thank you for reading and commenting on my blog 😃
