Not counting WordPress (which would be biting off my nose to spite my face), I’m on a media blackout. That covers yesterday, today and tomorrow. I don’t want to hear about the inauguration. I don’t want to see news about it. I don’t want to look at photos of anyone.
Total.Media.Blackout.
I’m not pouting, I just feel super-saturated with the election coverage that seemed to last for 5 years. And, on top of that, is the spectacle of the inauguration.
I’m politically exhausted.
Let’s see if I make it until Sunday.
Michelle Obama had some fantastic facial expressions today. Spoiler Alert.

Media, media – I’ve heard that word before. Gosh, where was that … no, don’t tell me. I’ll get it in a minute.

I don’t plan to write about it. May do some more posts analyzing the Election itself, though…

Shhhhhh……..don’t mention any names today…..shhhhhhh…..not even the election. Although, when I come out of my media blackout I’d love to read more of your posts like

But today I’m staying clear of everything political. And drinking tea and chicken soup. No I’m kidding about that part.

I did something similar. Went to my favorite park today, even though it was foggy and dreary and cold and wet. Would rather walk in the woods than watch today’s spectacle. I have avoided the news. Avoided facebook. Still a bit of it leaked in. I quickly turned away. I don’t want to know either. I don’t want to have to unsee. I guess you are right, I need to do this tomorrow too. Maybe even Sunday.

I went back to the eye doctor this morning and the news was on in the waiting room. I just read a book. And was thankful that my vision was healed enough that I could read without it on font 8 million (I’m wildly exaggerating). So I was lost in my book.

Understand completely Barb and I’m an Aussie – we are over saturated with the crapola here as well👌

It seems like every country is sick of hearing about our craziness. Or is there a vicarious thrill watching our political…I don’t even know the word for it.

Oh God no Barb – no pleasure at all, anybody who understands how small this world really is knows what affects one affects us all. I could not believe he got in but then maybe it was as Elizabeth Gilbert days – to make everyday heroes, good people stand up against this aberration of a leader.

I need to take a personal day from work to catch up (meaning, really, to go back to past posts) that you’ve written. I love every one.

I haven’t felt this way ever, no matter who won from which party. This year is different. I’m giving myself a mental health break from the news for a couple of days.

Understand perfectly. I’m suspending my NYT subscription for a few months. Their coverage is just too good, I started getting heartburn, need a break too. But I did get a good lift from looking at the footage from the Women’s Marches this morning 🙂

I saw a bit of them because you can’t avoid everything. The marches can’t be ignored by the government. Very powerful. I know dozens of women from school who went to either to Washingon D.C. ( a good 5 hours from here) or NYC to participate.
I don’t think I can avoid any longer. Plus I am very interested in all news. I just needed a break.

Could be a good idea to take regular breaks 🙂

Robins are nice this time of year. They are interested in worms and suet. They particularly dislike news. I’m with the robins. Well, except for the worms and suet.
