It happened again. ย It was important that I give it another go, just in case last year’s results were an anomaly.
But, alas, the Girl Scout Cookie Diet failed once again.
At least I tried.

I did better this year. I gave the girls $1 each because I want to help them, but once I buy a box (and it’s empty before I get home) I actively seek them out. Don’t worry that you caved, it’s a good cause and they don’t sell them for long. ๐

That’s true. I teach in a high school that has about 125 plus teachers and a huge support staff. That’s a lot of daughters and granddaughters selling cookies. This year besides eating way too many myself, I’ve given boxes to my own kids (obviously) and now I’m giving some to my students. I know, I know, they aren’t healthy snacks. But I was a scout too and totally support the cause. ๐

Let’s just hope they don’t start deep-frying them. Deep-fried Samoas might lead us all into temptation.

Ha! Oddly enough, Samoas are not my favorites. I’m a thin mints kind of gal.

I think they do something to your memory. You know you can’t stop eating them, but you forget and buy more anyhow.

patience, persistence and a little chocolate makes for a well-rounded diet in the long run. How much chocolate depends on how long the run is though…

My long run isn”t looking too healthy right about now…..

Call me cold, but I boycotted them years ago. Too expensive for something that’s just BAD for you. They don’t tempt me at all. Do they offer an option to just make a donation? I might do that, if asked. (No one even bothers to ask me anymore. Yes, I’m THAT cold.)

Another reader here replied that they do that. I’m not sure what the vehicle is for donating, though. When I was a kids we went door-to-door. Most people are afraid to let their kids do that now.
